About Telehealth

Telehealth can be done with: 

  • A smartphone with camera + stand

  • tablet with a camera + stand

  • a laptop with a camera + microphone

  • a desk top with camera + microphone 

You might also want:​

  • a journal and something to write with

  • tissues

  • headphones

  • background music

  • pet with you or outside the room

  • background noise to create a sound privacy

Who's a good candidate for Telehealth?

  • Generally, people age 14 and up that are good at using technology. 

  • Sometimes teens as young as 12 are a good fit for telehealth, but they have to have done telehealth or tele-schooling with success. 

  • The client must have object permanence. This means people that understand that the person on the screen is human and does not follow them around.

  • Young children and certain people with TBI that would see the telehealth session like a tv show, would not be a good candidate. 

  • People who do not have to touch their therapist to know that they are real.
