Teen Sessions

Are you doubting yourself, your identity or constantly comparing yourself to others and coming up short? Do you wish you had different parents, different siblings, a different body or different skin? Are you fighting with your self, your friends, your family or your significant other? Help is here. While you used to be able to tell your friends and parents everything you were going through in elementary school, something happens in middle and high school where you just need someone on your side that won’t judge you for your curiosity,  experimentation or identity. First, you are not alone. More and more teens just need someone in their corner unconditionally. I am here to help! Schedule your free session to find out more.

Did you know that at the age of 14, teens can choose their own medical, dental and mental health providers? At the age of 14, parents have to obtain a release of information from their teen to have access to their charts or case notes. In fact, teens 14 and up can refuse to share their case files with their parents if they wish.

I believe teens. Being a teenager is tough. That climb from childhood to adulthood is rife with turmoil: hormones, peer pressure, drugs, and personal identity struggles. When your teen cannot open up to you, therapy may be the answer. Research shows that teens need one trusted adult in their lives to remain living.

I use a form of play therapy with my teens. I build rapport by learning their interests and their perspective on their life. I teach my teens about the 5 levels of friendship and boundaries. I use backward chaining to aid my teens in creating the life that they want now and beyond high school. I worked as a college entrance tutor for a national company and I pull on that prior knowledge.

No teen should feel alone as they navigate adolescence on their way to adulthood.
